A Late Birthday Present...and Preparations

Finally made the Amazon order I've been meaning to make with my birthday money. With lots of time on my classes I took a chance on the new '5 minutes a day' bread book. Also in the box was a tiered cooling rack, and round cake pans.

I promise to report on the new book soon. I'm happy to say it has gluten-free items as well so I may make some gluten-free cinnamon rolls for my sister.

January is my month off as well, so I made a seed order. Last year I believe I waited until March (when I should have been planting). This year I went with a Wisconsin company called R. H. Shumway. It's an older company but the name has been revived and is either in partnership or owned by Jung's who have stores locally. When comparing the two, Shumway's had several things Jung's did not, like these curling cucumber and purple asparagus. It's not organic but it's local and it had what I needed this year.

I'm feeling more excited about growing this year than I was last year. I'm not sure why. Maybe L. has stabilized enough were I can feel like the future is worth planning.

Lots going on here this month. Need to find my camera cable and I'll share a little.
